The smoking ruins of the Taufua Beach Fales. It's hard to believe this was an idyllic palm studded beach with private fale cabins a couple days ago. There is nothing left now. Personal effects, including luggage, suntan oil, swim fins, waterlogged photographs, laptops and clothing still litter the beach 4 days after the wave struck.
Update: February 11, 2010. The fales are being rebuilt and are open again!
